Reading intervention is based on the proven whole word reading techniques used by renowned organisations such as DSE in the UK and the Institute of Human Potential in the USA.
Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) support.
Having been aware of the DSDT for a while, we contacted Sen to ask for advice on the EHCP process. Initially she sent us a very helpful email with some general guidance, along with the offer to look over the draft plan and support us at any meetings with the local authority and school to discuss the plan.
Recently published research study in the Journal of Child Language, has reported that children with Down syndrome can benefit from the use of written words alongside pictures to help teach spoken vocabulary.
